There is only 4 days to register for OC Archery and Swimming!!! Camp is getting close and there is just over a week until our first events!
I am very excited to start the summer with our trip to Olds Aquatic Centre and to OC Archery in Airdrie; However, we are low on registrations and still require a few more for both trips to make them a Go. We do not want to cancel any trips, but if we cannot cover the costs we may have to. For most trips the minimum number needed to go is 5, which is not a lot. So make sure you hurry in and register you kids for the events. I am sure they will have a great time, so if you are on the fence about your decision feel free to call or email me any questions or concerns you may have. On another note there will be a FREE Movie at the Community Hall on Thursday the 30th (Yes, I do know the program guide says Wednesday the 30th, this was a mistake). We will be watching Zootopia at 12:00pm. Concession will be open so bring spare change, none of our items cost more than a dollar. We will be at the Farmer's Market Thursday from 3:30-7:00pm, if you absolutely cannot make it into the Town Office to Register for the upcoming events, the Farmer's Market will be your very last chance to register for Archery. Remember that the Market may be busy because of this reason, so if you can come into the Town Office you will most likely have shorter wait times to register. Also, we do not take any cards for payment at the Market, only Cheque or Cash, but you can use cards at the Town Office. Cant wait for the summer to start and the trips to begin. I am very excited and I hope the kids are too.

Only 2 weeks until our first trip! We will be going to Airdrie's OC Archery to practice our aim and have a fun time learning how to shoot the target. The last day to Register for this trip is coming up, next Thursday, the 30th will be the last day to register. Make sure you come to the Town Office or one of the next two Farmer's Markets to register for our first two events. We will be going Swimming in Olds the day after we go to Archery and the deadline for that is also next Thursday.
As well as registering for out of town events we will have in town events that you can just show up to. We will be showing a Movie at the Community Hall on Thursday the 30th at 12:00pm. We will most likely be watching Zootopia, so make sure you mark it in your calendars and don't miss out. Concession will be open so remember to bring whatever spare change you have lying around! Remember to come register at the Farmer's Market tonight. There is only 2 more Markets to register for our first trips; Swimming in Olds and Archery in Airdrie. Remember to register early fro things like Calaway Park and Trampolining as they are more likely to fill up fast.
We will be at the Market tonight from 3:30-7:00pm and hope to get some registrations. There are prizes to be won at our table as well so bring the kids by for a game while you read our information or register for an event. There will not be any in town events the first week of the Program because it is the long weekend and many people will be out of town. You can also register at the Town Office. Our registration forms are available here, on the Town Site, at the Farmers Market and at the Town Office. Remember to register for Archery soon. There is only 14 more days to do so. We will be at the Farmers Market tomorrow and the 30th for registrations for Archery, as well as throughout the summer for registrations for the program in general. We have lots of exciting events planned and Archery and our first Swimming trip are approaching fast. Hope to see some smiling faces registering for some events tomorrow at the Market. :)I am hoping to get youth in Crossfield more involved in Art and Theatre, I have contacted Broadway Canada about any discounts that are available for youth groups to buy tickets to Disney's production of The Newsies in July at the Jubilee. If this is something you are interested check out the post on our Facebook page, comment below or feel free to call or email me. Culture is very important in our society and I believe children should be able to be a part of it as soon as possible.
As a reminder there is only 16 days to register for our first swimming trip and our Archery trip. Make sure you get your registration in soon or we may have to consider cancelling our first trip of the summer. Today's visit to the High School went great! Lots of interested kids that loved the Beach Balls I brought. I promised to bring more to the Farmers Market tonight and hope to get just as much interest.
Hopefully my visit to the High School will prompt more registrations tonight, I've heard of a lot of interest in events but still we have not received and registrations. Please keep in mind there is only 3 weeks until Registration for Archery and our first swimming trip to Olds will close. Myself and one of the Daycamp Coordinators, Sharayah, were just interviewed by Air 106.1! We should be on the air shortly, how crazy is that? It was just a spur of the moment thing that Adrienne arranged and surprised us with. That was a very nerve wracking but exciting experience. Hopefully it gets the word out there and we can get some more registrations for our upcoming events!
As of today there is only 2.5 weeks left to register for our first Swimming trip to Olds and for out First Field Trip to OC Archery. You can Register at the Town Office or the Farmers Market every Thursday from 3:30-7:00. We hope to see lots of faces at the Farmer's Market this week to register for the coming trips. Please remember if we don't get enough interest the event will be cancelled. We are really hoping we wont have to cancel any events this summer.
If you have any suggestions for fun events to do this summer or next summer please comment below or post on our Facebook page. We love feedback from the public as we aim to please. The first day of the Recreation Program is July 6th. Our first field trip is to OC Archery where we will spend two hours learning how to shoot a bow and arrow and having fun trying to hit the target. We are very excited to start our program and to see everyone and have fun on field trips and during in town events.
Registration forms are available under the Important Forms tab as well as on the Town Website. You can also come get physical copies from the town and from the Farmer's Market every Thursday from 3:30-7:00. We can't wait to get started and hope the kids are just as excited as we are. We do not accept emailed registration forms. |
Crossfield's Summer Recreation Program is here to provide fun summer activities and out of town trips for youth 8 and up. We hope to engage the youth in energetic and exciting events and give them a place to go during the summer months.
Registration can be done at the Town Office or Farmer's Market every Thursday. Deadline for registration is the Thursday before every event. |
