A reminder that a couple weeks back we had some kids paint rocks for the town. They are now hidden around town! Here are the rules for what to do if you find them.

We have some exciting events planned for the kids this coming week. Tuesday July 17th we will be swimming at Genesis Place again, the schedule following the same as last week. Wednesday July 18th we will be going to The Calgary ClimbPark AND Village Square!
For this trip the bus will be picking us up at Pete Knight Memorial Arena at 10:15 am and returning back to the arena at 4:30 pm. We will be climbing first so please wear athletic wear, non-marking shoes and socks are also mandatory. After climbing for an hour, the bus will bring us to Village Square pool until the bus takes us back to the arena. Bring a lunch to have between activities, and a swimsuit and towel for swimming! Water bottles are important to ensure the kids stay hydrated during this busy day. The Climbpark requires an additional waiver so please email me the confirmation to [email protected] before the day of the trip or else your child won’t be able to participate. Registration for both these events will remain open until the end of Monday July 16th, so please register before that date! We also have a crafts day planned for Thursday July 19th. Weather permitting we are planning a paint war with a shirt to bring home at the end. This will happen at Banta Park and is open to all ages, with 8 and under requiring an adult supervisor. Check this page early next week to get the details, if the weather isn’t cooperating we will do a different craft in the library. Cant wait to see you all next week. Exciting news!
We have our first field trips starting next week. Tuesday July 10th we will be going swimming at Genesis Place, then consecutively every Tuesday after that until August 21st. Registration for each swimming trip will be open until the day before. The bus will be departing from The Pete Knight Memorial Arena at 12:30 pm, and we will be returning to the arena at 4:15 pm. Make sure the kids bring their bathing suit, a towel and a snack for the ride home. We will also be going to The Thundrdome for combat archery, https://thundrdome.com/book/private-event-combat-archery/ here is the link to get more information about what it is we are doing. I will push this registration deadline until sometime early next week if need be, to get more kids involved! Today is the Crossfield Summer Adventures Day Camp's 30th birthday, so they will be providing cake at tonight's farmers market. Come on down to check out the youth events happening for the summer, and enjoy a slice of cake while you're at it.
I hope to see you all there! Hello everybody! We hope you've had a wonderful school year so far. Are you as excited as we are to participate in all the fun this summer? We hope so!
Our program planning is underway for this summer's recreational activities, which are generally offered for kids ages 8 and up. We have 7 field trips planned, including Calgary ClimbPark, InjaNation, Calaway Park, and more. There will also be many in town events, free to participate in. Registration will open June 14th, at which point you can sign up at the town Farmers Market or at the town office. New this year, is the ability to register your children online! When more information becomes available, we will get the link and instructions on the website. Make sure you continually check both the website and the Facebook page for weekly updates, including anything weather related that might interfere with the events of the week. You can find the schedule and program brochure that includes pricing in the Program Information tab. If you are needing any additional information, or have any questions you can email at [email protected] or call 587.581.4511. We look forward to seeing you all this summer! We are getting close to the start of our events and trips for the summer, so make sure you make you way down to the Farmer's Market or the Town Office to register.
In just two weeks we will be going on our fist field trip to LaserQuest and Village Square. Come beat your friends at LaserTag and then blast down the Thunder Run at Village Square. Register at least a week before the event so we can ensure we have enough participants to go on each trip. Don't forget that next Friday we will be hosting a 200ft Slip n' Slide down Veteran's hill, with a fire, food, games, a outdoor movie, and more! (This event is weather dependent, but the film will be shown in the Hall if the weather is bad). Hope to see you tonight at the Farmer's Market! Registration for the Drama and Art Workshops is not available.
Register for our field trips and our new Workshops at the Town Office or at the Farmer's Market Thursday evenings. We are so excited for the program to start and the summer to get into swing! I can't wait for the registrations to start coming in. The program is getting into the swing of things quickly. Stay up to date with our Facebook Page on the happenings.
This summer we will be doing our in-town events and field trips, and they are going to be awesome. We've also added a new event; we will be organizing Drama and Art Workshops with Seven Starving Artists Theatre Company. We hope that you will register so we can continue to bring interesting classes in from outside businesses. We will be hosting a Last Class Bash at Veterans Park on June 30th to celebrate the first day of summer classes. This event is for ages 10 and up and at 9pm it will be for only ages 13 and up. It will be a safe place for teenagers to come and celebrate the end of classes with a massive Slip and Slide, water games, outdoor games, a weenie roast, smores, an outdoor movie and much more. We will not be at the Farmer's Market this week, but you can get a program guide from the Summer Daycamps table and Adrienne Fedrigo will be able to answer most questions about the summer events. Summer is coming and I am so ready for this summer's awesome events!
Keep up to date on the happenings here and on our facebook page. We have posted the Registration form and calendar, the Program guide will be up soon. And photos from last summer will be up by the end of the week. I can't wait for summer! Today is my last day working for the Town this summer. I have loved every day running the Summer Youth Program and will come back next summer if the Town will take me. I loved meeting and getting to know all the kids that have come on our trips and I am so excited to start planning new trips for next summer.
Thanks so much to everyone who registered and everyone who made my summer so great. I can't wait to see all your faces again, whether next summer or throughout the year. I hope everyone has an amazing school year and they learn so much and have more stories to tell me next summer if I am back. |
